WRITING COMPETITIONS

WRITING COMPETITIONS

Mrs I. Boonzaier
Writing Competition Organizer
This competition challenges members to think creatively and evaluate what they see and hear in a critical way so as to produce work which can be taken as a barometer of what is happening in society at large. This competition has two categories: Essay and Poetry. The essays will be selected by the English Department Educators during all writing tasks and examinations. Learners will be encouraged to enter the poetry category. The topic is very broad as long as a learner makes use of creative writing skills. The school also makes use of an external examiner.
The Writing Competition takes place in the fourth term.

There is no allocated date as the competition takes place each term.
At the end of a term each language educator identifies FIVE of their learners who wrote the best essays and then submits them.
Our school promotes writing because we believe writing is an invaluable skill.
